The Summit Center’s 2019 Hope Award Recipients Announced

Amherst, NY, October 3, 2019 – The Summit Center will present its annual Hope Award to the Grigg Lewis Foundation, Inc. and Anthony D’Auria, Executive Vice President/Principal at Waterbourne Real Estate Advisors, Inc., at the annual Party for Summit on Friday, November 8, at Salvatore’s Italian Gardens.

“The Grigg Lewis Foundation and Tony D’Auria have demonstrated long-term commitments to our organization and to the children and adults we serve,” said Stephen R. Anderson, Ph.D., BCBA-D, CEO of Summit. “We’re very pleased to recognize their significant contributions with this award.”

Grigg Lewis Foundation: In 2005, the Grigg Lewis Foundation provided a generous lead gift of $150,000 that helped Summit build its state-of-the-art campus in Getzville where hundreds of children with developmental disabilities attend school everyday.

They provided additional financial support in 2010 for construction at Summit’s Creekside site, where students ages 14 – 21 gain independence and strengthen their vocational skills.

In 2016, with its gift of $125,000 the Grigg Lewis Foundation was one of the first, and most generous, donors to Summit’s Building Hope Capital Campaign, which will expand Summit’s Creekside campus with additional classrooms and provide a Center for Autism Assessment and Treatment for children most challenged by autism.

Anthony D’Auria:  Anthony D’Auria, Executive Vice President/Principal at Waterbourne Real Estate Advisors, LLC, has given his time, talent and treasure to make lives better for people with autism in Western New York.

Mr. D’Auria served on Summit’s Board of Directors for 12 years, with three years as President. He currently co-chairs the $3.7 million dollar Building Hope Capital Campaign.

Over the years, Mr. D’Auria has shared invaluable expertise on several of Summit’s construction projects. In addition, he and his company, Waterbourne Real Estate Advisors, have provided generous financial support for Summit’s Autism Walk, gala events, and capital campaigns.

Proceeds from Party for Summit benefit Summit Foundation, Inc. The event will feature gourmet food, dancing, open bar, and live/silent auctions. More information is available at www.partyforsummit.com.
