Making Lives Better for 50 Years

Making Lives Better for 50 Years

This year, The Summit Center is celebrating 50 years of making lives better! When Nancy Harris founded the Language Development Program back in 1973, she was driven to make a difference for her son, and for other children with disabilities. What started as a small program in Nancy’s kitchen has grown into an organization that has changed thousands of lives in such a meaningful way.

Throughout 2023, The Summit Center will share 50 stories to commemorate 50 years of service. These stories will feature those who have been impacted by Summit during the past five decades. All published stories can be found here as well on Summit’s social media platforms.

Help us convey the magic of what we do at Summit! If you have a special story that captures the spirit of the individuals we serve, reach out to Erika Carlson at ecarlson@thesummitcenter.org.
